In October 2011, Living with Lynching entered the world! It’s hard to believe that was 15 years ago. Writing this book taught me so much, and it gave me a strong foundation. Publishing it taught me how good it feels to be both proud of my work and thrilled with how it is packaged.
I still hear from people who say it changed how they see violence against African Americans because it insists that SUCCESS inspires the violence. That insight continues to shape so much of how I see the world. Confirmation that these early playwrights understood American culture just keeps coming!
